Stunning Bridal Nail Arts For An Indian Wedding

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

The wedding season is afoot and everyone is dashing to prep for it. As a #bride, you might have thought about every outfit and their styling to a T for your big day. But there is one detail that is often overlooked and ends up being an afterthought, your nails. Since it’s not practical to be changing your nails with each outfit, as there are so many functions in a typical Indian #wedding, you have to make the decision wisely. You need a style of nailart that will not only flatter you and all your outfits, but be a stand alone beauty on it’s own. So without much further ado, let’s dive right into the different kinds of nail arts you can get done for your special day.

Glitter All The Way

My personal favourite and something that I had done for my own wedding (first image). Glitter nails are the best all rounder nails that compliment any outfit you could think of. It looks fantastic in all light settings, and glistens from whichever angle you're watching or photographing it. Just pick the right tone for you, cool/ warm/ neutral. I personally chose a warm deeper copper gold because that complimented all my outfits and my wedding jewellery. You could opt for silver glitter is you're going for cool lighter shades of dresses and diamond jewellery. But be wary of colour, it won't shine as much as your silver and golds, and not be as universal. So #glitter nails in a neutral colour are your safest and sparkliest bet. Bedazzled Beauty

A little more extravagant than your glitter nails, #bedazzled nails are the perfect cherry on top of the cake. Opt for a neutral shade of nudes and pinks as your base so it compliments all your outfits (even post wedding outfits you'd wear for small events and your honeymoon). Have minimal nail art with small studs strewn across all the fingers, or focus on just one accent finger. Do not overdo it though, as it might end up clashing with your intricate henna and jewellery. Given your handling of the same, you might lose a few studs here and there eventually, so opt for designs where the loss of a few stones won't be as noticeable.

Fancy French Manicures

The most requested bridal nail art, and deservedly so, the classic #French Manicure is evergreen. Perfect for a simple classy look, and easily transitions to post wedding life. You can have the basic version and let the rest of your accessories take the centrestage. Or you can jazz it up with rhinestones, glitters or ombre designs to make them more special and festive. Perfect for day weddings and lighter shades of wedding outfits. This is the ideal nail art of choice if you're having a western ceremony and plan to wear a gorgeous pristine white gown. Just add a touch of fine glitter or accent nail designs to elevate your nails and make them pop.

Ravishing Reds

Red nails are an Indian Bride staple and deservingly so. Considered an auspicious and lucky colour, red holds a very high place in Indian traditions. You can pick your favourite shade of red depending on your skin tone and colour of your outfit. You can leave them as is and they'll compliment your deep red henna beautifully; or you can add sparkle and glitter in the form of rhinestones and accessories. #Red nails stand out beautifully against pastel and lighter shades of clothes and look fantastic paired with a red lip.

3D Nail Art

A rarely requested nail art, #3D nailarts can be the feather in your cap when done properly. You can opt for colours, but white looks the classiest. Ask for little rosettes and flowers on top of a neutral colour. Pair with rhinestones and glitters for a unique design to stand out in your wedding pictures.

Classy Neutrals

If extravagant designs and colours aren't your thing, then these are the perfect nails for you. They do not clash with your clothes or #henna, instead they just elevate the shape of your hands and make them look much more elegant. Opt for light neutrals in cool tones which compliments the undertones of your outfit. Perfect for silver toned wedding outfits and diamond/ pearl jewellery.

Accessorized Nails

Just like your wedding jewellery and #accessories, now you can also buy accessories for your nails! From intricate rosettes to frameworks, the possibilities are endless. Much more practical and durable, and major timesaver compared to bedazzled nails where every stone is individually placed. So opt for quirky accessories for your wedding nails if you're short on time and want a perfect 3D design on your nails.

Glitter Accents

A different take on glitter nails mentioned at the top. If overall glitter is not your thing and you find it too overwhelming, then this is the perfect look for you. Accent your favourite base colour with a glitter in a shade that compliments your outfit. You can have glitter French nails or #ombre nails. Tiny specks and designs will glisten when the light hits them, but still be a demure version of glitter nails.

Customised Art Nails

Last but not the least. Nail art customised for you and your special event. You can have cute portraits and caricatures of you and your partner. Or have cute sayings and quotes added on to them. Super adorable and definitely something worth to remember. So if interested, look for a nail technician who specializes in them and get a truly unique and bespoke nail art done for your special day.
